Kia ora! My name is Sheyney. I'm an indigenous creator, lover of arts and roller skater all from Tāmaki Makaurau New Zealand
Right before I started rollerskating I had just finished my bachelor's degree in Performing arts which is where I developed my love for movement, I have a great love for history and telling stories and have even dabbled in theatre and learning more about my own culture through learning Te Reo Maori.
When I began rollerskating right before covid I developed my skills through a love of park skating and later on discovered rollerdance.
There's something extremely liberating about watching people dance on wheels and I thought to myself, I want to a part of that. When I put skates on my feet it gives me the freedom and courage to express myself in my own way. It's also allowed me to meet all kinds of people and create connections through a profound love for wheels. My mission now is to help build the rollerskate culture here in NZ by making dancing on wheels more accessible. I can't wait to share that with you all!

Hi, I’m Questa, an artsy, plant-loving soul from Auckland, New Zealand! I’m a passionate roller-skater, performer, and artist who thrives on creativity in all its forms. My love for skating began in 2019, and ever since, it’s been an incredible journey of connection between body and movement. Skating has become my way of channeling energy into creativity, dance, and expression. Over the years, I’ve refined my skills both as a skater and teacher, and now, my greatest joy comes from bringing people together through music, movement, and fun—I can’t wait to share that with all of you!
HOW WE STARTED:
Skate Nation was founded by 2 Roller-Skaters who met at their local park in Auckland, New Zealand, in 2019 and we've been skating together since! What started as a simple shared love of skating together soon turned into a mission to grow the Jam/Roller Dance community. We have spent years honing our skills through our love of movement, dancing and expression on wheels and we want to share that with you!

At the heart of Skate Nation is a desire to grow the Roller-Skate community in New Zealand. We aim to do so by giving people opportunities and safe spaces that help them discover what we like to call your own “spice” or “sauce”.
We want to encourage you to find freedom through Roller Dance and uncover your own authenticity on wheels. Whether you're a seasoned pro or a total newbie, we're here to support you on your journey to explore your potential and connect with others who share your love for skating.
